Current Development Projects

Urban Village, Mamhilad

This important development is the flagship of Johnsey Estates’ current development portfolio, as the site is allocated in the Local Development Plan as part of a new residential development for up to 1,700 homes. The project will retain existing employment uses, to which will be added a range of retail and neighbourhood facilities, including a new Primary School, in order to create a self-contained community, set against the backdrop of the foothills to the Brecon Beacons.

An outline Planning Application was submitted in June 2017, with the intention of bringing forward this major residential development element at the earliest opportunity.

Westgate, Abergavenny

Work is now well under way on this prominent and strategically located mixed use development on the outskirts of Abergavenny. Over £2.5m has been invested in infrastructure works to enable the release of land for 48 new homes, the construction of a Premier Inn Hotel, a public house, Costa Coffee drive-through, McDonalds restaurant and care home facility.

Further land remains available for complementary uses and all enquiries should be directed to Johnsey Estates.

Castle Oaks, Usk

Following the success of the initial phases, sold to Barratt Homes, Johnsey Estates have retained 21 acres (8.05 hectares), which will be promoted for further residential development at the appropriate time.

Coopers Filters, Abergavenny

Johnsey Estates sold the last remaining phase of their highly successful Coopers Filters site in 2014, and the last homes developed at the end of 2016.

Johnsey Estates have retained an adjoining parcel of land amounting to 5.18 acres (2.09 hectares) as a strategic land holding, which will be promoted for further residential development.

Leeway, Newport

Johnsey Estates has a long and successful track record of development in Newport, and the last remaining phase of their much admired Newport Retail and Leisure Park was sold in July 2015.

Johnsey Estates have retained ownership of a cleared site of 0.45 acres (0.186 acres), on the successful Leeway Industrial Estate, which will be promoted for development in due course.

Lower Lakes, Newport

Strategic land currently allocated for employment in the adopted Local Plan. All enquiries should be addressed to Johnsey Estates.
